EPW - Continental verge fusee with rare erotic painted porcelain back panel, 55mm, silver OF original consular case with French maker's mark "Dupré," the back bezel carrying mask around its periphery under glass, lifting to reveal the intimate details of the couple in dress matching the period of the watch ca 1820, KWKS, WED, verge escapement, unsigned gilt mvt with pierced & engraved foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, without number. Gross weight of assembled watch 66.5 dwt (103.4 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, good balance motion, good escapement function, plates show very cloudy gilding, little oxide on steel components; dial with large filled patch at 4, accompanied with hls and fracture; hands excellent but later; original case shows little wear, even black tarnish, many cracks to the panel with only tiny loss behind the woman's head, no dents or dings; closure good; bow & pendant original, tight; good domed glass crystals front and back.
